Stress Management in the Workplace

½ day: (9.30 – 12.30)

Delivery: At your workplace

Description: A 2013 survey by APA’s Centre for Organisational Excellence found that job-related stress is a serious issue. More than one third of working Australians reported experiencing chronic work stress and just 36 percent said their organisations proved sufficient resources to help them manage that stress. Whilst you can’t always avoid the tensions that occur at work, you can take steps to manage work-related stress. This half-day training examines the positive and negative effects of stress, and assists participants to analyse their priorities and manage time more effectively, minimise environmental stress, and use cognitive restructuring, thought awareness and rational thinking to combat maladaptive practices. It also teaches acceptance-oriented approaches such as meditation, mindfulness and physical relaxation to reduce the negative effects of stress, cope with change and build resilience.
